About

Wild Seed Apothecary was founded in 2013 by Erin Domagal. A longtime resident of NY’s Hudson Valley, Erin’s connection with plants has been shaped by her work as an artist, gardener and educator, and inspired by her travels around the world. She has been studying with other herbalists and plants for the past 15+ years and considers herbalism to be a dynamic relationship between art, science, and ancestral knowledge. Erin can be found walking in the wilderness, whispering to plants, and creating art when not in the botanical studio.

WSA’s Herbal Product Line:

Wild Seed Apothecary’s recipes are created with the careful consideration of medicinal and aromatic attributes. We value an understanding and appreciation for the herbal palate and are on a mission to rescue the human taste buds from the American regime of sugar and salt.

At WSA, we are committed to honoring plants.  All plant material used in our products are personally grown in a sustainable, organic manner; ethically wild-crafted; or purchased from reputable sources that share the same values regarding the careful cultivation of plants.   And while we love and value traditional herbalist practices from around the globe, we strongly believe in the importance of knowing and maintaining an experiential relationship with the plants we use to craft our products.  It is for this reason that the overwhelming majority of the plants we use are species that grow in New York’s Hudson Valley.  While not all of the plants are native to this region, we believe that being able to interact with and understand the plant as it lives its life increases its healing effectiveness.

Our products and services are geared toward helping you learn about the nourishment that nature provides.  We want to support you in understanding how plants provide medicinal properties, how those qualities encourage healing in the body, and which plants in your own yard are edible or medicinal. The formulas we offer are geared toward stocking your first aid kit with nourishing tonics and supports for common minor ailments. We view the herbal first aid kit as a pillar in the movement of reclaiming responsibility for our own health.  Learning how to read your own body, to know its limits and its needs is an imperative skill. The information on our Seasonal Medicine page offers additional lenses with which to develop your perspective on health and alignment with nature.
